Your Weakness is the Perfect Billboard for God’s Power

Isn’t it incredible how God can work through the most unlikely people? A recurring theme emerges throughout the Bible: God often chooses the weakest, the humblest, and those who are often overlooked to showcase His power!

Why hide your weaknesses? God loves to use His power to transform them into billboards that display His greatness. When you surrender everything to Him—including your weaknesses and failures—He often turns them into vivid masterpieces that broadcast His limitless greatness and infinite power.

Here are a few stories to remind you that your limitations can become powerful platforms for God’s glory. Let me show you a few biblical examples that demonstrate how God’s divine might shine through human weakness.

1. A Leader on the Run

You might picture someone bold and eloquent when you think of great leaders. Yet Moses was anything but. He was a stutterer—raised in Pharaoh’s palace but exiled to the wilderness. Running from his past, Moses hesitated when God called him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, saying, 'Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh?' But God reassured him, saying, 'I will be with you.' This divine promise transformed Moses from a murderer into the very mouthpiece of God. If God can use someone like Moses, imagine what He can do through you!

2. The Boy Who Ran Toward Giants

David was just a young shepherd when God chose him to be king. The youngest son in a family of warriors, he didn’t fit the mold of a traditional leader. Yet God saw his heart. When David faced Goliath, the massive Philistine warrior, he didn’t wear armor or carry a sword—he came with just a sling and a stone! David ran toward Goliath with faith in God, while the rest of Israel’s warriors ran from him. He demonstrated that God’s power is made perfect in weakness.

3. The Weakest becomes a Warrior

Gideon felt completely inadequate when God called him to save Israel from the Midianites. He was hiding, terrified and unsure of himself. He was raised among the smallest clan, and the weakest of my family. But God saw potential in Gideon! With just 300 men, Gideon led a victorious charge against a vast army. This victory wasn’t due to Gideon’s strength but God’s power working through him. If you feel insignificant, remember that God can elevate you to accomplish great things!

4. A Life in the Gutter

Rahab was a prostitute living in Jericho, yet God used her to rescue her family and to make her part of the family of Jesus. When she hid the Israelite spies, she recognized the power of the God of Israel. Her faith saved not only her but also her family when Jericho fell. Rahab’s story is a testament to the transformative grace of God. No one is beyond His reach, and your past does not define your future. God can redeem and rewrite your story, too!

5. You!

By now, I hope I’ve convinced you: God loves to do the extraordinary through everyday people. He loves to take the least likely individuals and make them unstoppable. The beautiful truth in these stories is that your weaknesses can become a powerful testimony to God’s strength!

When you feel inadequate or overwhelmed, remember that God specializes in using the humble and the weak. He takes your limitations and turns them into billboards for His glory. So, embrace your vulnerabilities, knowing that your weaknesses are the perfect showcase for God’s miraculous power to be displayed!
